How to download and install the FactFlow Update
May 2026
Revised 2026-04-27
As part of the development process, the current FactFlow July 2025 will cease to operate after April 2026 and will be replaced by the updated version FactFlow May 2026. To be clear, this expiration is intentional and is not due to a known calculation error in FactFlow July 2025.

We will assume the current FactSage 8.4 FactFlow is stored in the folder c:\FactSage\FactFlow but you may have used a different name e.g. c:\FactSage84\FactFlow. Note, the update is for FactSage 8.4 - it will not work with, say, FactSage 8.3.

In the FactFlow May 2026 update there are no changes to the calculation algorithms. Numerical results should therefore remain unchanged. However the interface has been changed to improve the user workflow.

A summary of the changes is posted at Improvements in FactFlow May 2026.

Download

The FactFlow Update - May 2026 can be downloaded from FactFlow Update - May 2026, where you must enter your FactSage Customer ID (1 to 1000 or 5001 to 6000).

Download FactFlow.zip and extract it. Depending on how the ZIP file is extracted, an extra outer folder may sometimes be created. Make sure you use the FactFlow folder that directly contains FactFlow.exe.

There are two ways to update the existing FactFlow July 2025 installation, described below.

Option 1. Rename FactFlow July 2025 and install FactFlow May 2026

a) Locate the current FactSage 8.4 FactFlow folder, for example c:\FactSage\FactFlow.

b) Rename it as, say, c:\FactSage\FactFlowOld.
To rename a folder, open Explorer, right-click on c:\FactSage\FactFlow and select Rename (which appears at the top or within the menu).

c) Extract the FactSage folder from FactFlow.zip and copy it to c:\FactSage\FactFlow.

d) Your private files and projects are stored in the folder c:\FactSage\FactFlowOld\Equi-Cst-Flow. Copy this folder and its contents to c:\FactSage\FactFlow\Equi-Cst-Flow. If you have saved projects in other custom folders, those folders should also be copied as well.

Option 2. Overwrite FactFlow July 2025 with FactFlow May 2026

a) Copy the FactSage folder into your current installation, typically c:\FactSage\FactFlow.

b) If Windows asks how to handle files with the same names, select Replace the files in the destination.

c) Your existing projects should normally remain available after the update. For additional safety, users may back up the default project folder located at c:\FactSage\FactFlow\Equi-Cst-Flow. This is the default folder where FactFlow projects are commonly stored. If you have saved projects in other custom folders, those folders should also be backed up separately if desired.
